Our city is at a crossroads
Bella Vista is the second fastest-growing city in Arkansas. That growth should be shaped by the people who live here, not by those outside of our community. I'm going to make sure it's us.
Every decision the Council makes should pass this test:
Does it serve the people who actually call Bella Vista home, and
Can we sustain it for the next generation? That's stewardship.
It's our responsibility to take care of what we've been given, and pass it down better than we found it.
What I'll fight for
YOU come first
We should all welcome growth - it's part of what makes us better. But it has to serve the people who live here, not just those who are only looking to profit from it. I will not allow our neighborhoods to be treated like a spreadsheet.
Managed and Sustainable
We should all welcome new neighbors, but not at the cost of forfeiting the character that drew us to Bella Vista in the first place. That means holding investors, developers, and all for-profit businesses to a rigid standard and never allowing additional tax revenue to do our thinking for us.
Code and Law Enforcement
Why adopt a rule if we're not going to enforce it? I'll get ahead of problems instead of waiting for complaints, because rules that only apply sometimes aren't rules.
A neighbor, not a politician
I am a true Arkansan, born and raised in Fort Smith. After spending a couple of decades post-undergrad making a little money, seeing how life went on inside and outside of this country, and trying to figuring out life in general, I built a technology company here in Northwest Arkansas and raised three daughters with my wife Tonya. I now spend my weekends helping preserve Bella Vista's past through the Bella Vista Historical Museum. I am not a career politician, but I am your neighbor and I want to see Bella Vista grow up without losing what makes it worth calling home.
