I have spent my life, and most of my career, building things that HAVE to work.

I was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas and graduated from Northside High School (Home of the Grizzlies! Go Bears!). My classmates elected me Student Body President my senior year. It was my first campaign, though I didn't think of it that way at the time. I spent two years at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, then finished my undergraduate degree in Computer Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Later I earned an MBA from the McColl School of Business in Charlotte, North Carolina. Across all of it I got really good at one thing: taking a project that was complicated and behind schedule and getting it done on time and within budget, WITHOUT sacrificing quality.

There's more to running a business than making payroll

From 2009-2016 I ran my own company. At its height I employed sixteen people and the business brought in as much as two million dollars a year. Running it meant I was responsible for sixteen families' livelihoods, and for a budget where the math HAD to be right, because people were counting on it. Those people were not just employees, they became family. That is the same discipline the City Council needs when it spends residents' money - OUR money. We've got to ensure we get what we're paying for, and getting it at a fair price. And when that doesn't work any longer, we need to be willing to change it. I will ask the hard questions. I'm not above making people feel uncomfortable of a little upset. I will never agree to spending your money if we can't afford to, or if we can't account for it.

I've been serving Bella Vista long before the campaign

I'm currently a Board member on the Bella Vista Historical Museum, and I'm the Tournament Director for the Pickle for Preservation 2 pickleball tourney that's raising money for the Museum's expansion. I also give my time as a NextGen mentor where I partner with a group to provide mentorship to disabled people attending college to ensure inclusion. So none of this is new. When I talk about preserving what makes this place we call home worth living in, I'm describing how I already spend a lot of my free time.

Family and Home

My wife Tonya and I have raised three daughters, all of which have either graduated from or are attending college. Since becoming an empty-nester, if I'm not working at Walmart in Global Technology Finance or attending a City Council meeting or a Museum event, I can be found on a bike, out on the trails, in a kayak, or in my workshop bringing a piece of vintage stereo equipment back to life. I like history, old things, vintage stuff... because it was built well, and just need a little love and know-how.

Why I'm running for city council

I want to ensure Bella Vista grows up without losing what made us fall in love with it. It really is that simple.
