Meet Brian

A neighbor, not a politician.

Brian Mobley has spent his life in Arkansas, and most of his career building things that had to work.

He was born in Fort Smith and graduated from Northside High School, where his classmates elected him student body president his senior year. It was his first campaign, though he didn't think of it that way at the time. He spent two years at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, then finished his degree in computer science at UA Little Rock. Later he earned an MBA from the McColl School of Business. Across all of it he got good at one particular thing: taking a project that was complicated and behind schedule and getting it done on time and on budget.

He knows what it means to make payroll.

From 2009 to 2016 Brian ran his own company, Mobley Technologies. At its height he employed sixteen people and the business brought in as much as two million dollars in a year. Running it meant he was responsible for sixteen families' livelihoods, and for a budget where the math had to be right because people were counting on it. That is the same discipline the City Council needs when it spends residents' money. Know what things cost. Ask the hard questions. Never spend what you can't account for.

He was serving Bella Vista before there was a campaign.

Brian sits on the board of the Bella Vista Historical Museum, and he runs the Pickle for Preservation pickleball tournaments that raise money for the museum's expansion. He also gives his time as a NextGen mentor. None of this is new for him. When he talks about preserving what makes this town worth living in, he's describing how he already spends his weekends.

Brian and his wife Tonya have been married since 2012 and are raising three daughters in Bella Vista. When he isn't at a Council meeting or a museum event, he's usually on a bike, out on the trails, in a kayak, or in his workshop bringing a piece of vintage stereo equipment back to life. He likes old things that were built well, and he likes making them work again.

Why he's running.

"Bella Vista is growing faster than almost anywhere in Arkansas. I'm running because that growth should be shaped by the people who live here, not by outside investors who don't. I want to help this town grow up without losing what made us fall in love with it in the first place. That's the whole reason I'm doing this."
